Beautiful book isn't it. The only problem I find is that I have to copy out the recipe (or at least make notes) before I cook from it as I struggle with the silvery writing when I'm concentrating in the kitchen.
I know exactly what you mean - it's not the most practical book from that point of view. Apples for Jam is the same - I do the same as you and make notes before I start cooking. The ingredient list is also a little cramped.
